This was a quick snippet I managed to salvage from this week's op. My game had too many momentary freezes that made Teamspeak audible to make a coherent video

That's a good 10 rounds per target.

But... I've had ARs in the unit tell me to use 3-5 round bursts ONLY... Hmm...

this why AR's shouldnt be allowed to carry M240's or Mk48's...ammo conservation is actually a thing

Despite the debate on ammo conservation... those are pretty damn good killbursts, as LT Hedd would say. Bit more practice firing unsupported and you won't have had to come back around for seconds :D

So, admission of a bad habit: When I'm free gunning the 249, I use 7-10 round bursts because that let's me get over the initial kick and then ride the recoil smoothly on to target. The rate of fire was a lot higher probably because I was slightly freaked out by how close and how dense the enemy contact was. All that I was thinking was, "establish fire superiority" and to that extent, I did but perhaps with too much gusto

Can't use your ammo if you're dead. So, in my eyes, you did just fine as an AR. As long as you're not doing a cyclic 200 round burst at the enemy, then you're good. lol

I mean, ya'll use a 7-10 round burst which IS FINE for supressing fire (5-9 is better for accurate fire).  But my guys train to fire in bursts of 2-3 on the 'larger' machine gun.  It can take awhile to walk rounds on target and its not like we have reloads available in the bird.

That makes complete sense, as aviation has a bit more difficulty when having to reload the bird.
